Aftercare

All of our products are intended to give long term outdoor use with low maintenance but there are one or two things which can be done to help longevity and keep things looking their best.

Our acrylic panels might benefit from an occasional wipe with a damp cloth to clean off dust and anything which collects around the edges of frames.  Over a period of time, algae can begin to develop in corners and this can look unsightly if it spreads.

Most graffiti can be cleaned off the panel surface relatively easily with methylated spirits.  Please note that some of the proprietary graffiti removers which might be used on stone or metalwork have a strong solvent content and may damage the panel surface.

Light scratches can normally be removed with a gentle metal polish wadding such as 'Duraglit'.  Deeper scratches may need to be treated with very fine wet and dry paper, followed by polishing.

Most of our timber frames and posts are treated with Dulux Weathershield Aquatech water based stains or paints.  These should be good for at least 5-6 years in most circumstances, after which a re-coat should be considered.

Our steel frames are all powder-coated to give a hard protective finish.  We can supply a touch up medium for small chips and scratches should these occur.
